Vitamin E: Many horses do not receive enough vitamin E to meet their requirement. Horses exhibiting neurologic symptoms, recovering from illness or injury and horses under stress have an elevated vitamin E requirement making additional vitamin E supplementation necessary. Research has demonstrated that natural vitamin E is the best source of vitamin E for these horses. There are different forms of natural vitamin E. E/C supplies natural vitamin E in alpha and gamma forms. Gamma forms of natural vitamin E have been demonstrated to support desired cellular immunity responses in horses.
Vitamin C: Even though horses can produce vitamin C, horses under stress, recovering from illness or injury may not produce enough vitamin C to meet their requirement. Research has demonstrated that horses requiring vitamin E supplementation also benefit from supplemental vitamin C. Providing vitamin C and vitamin E together has been proven to be better than providing either one by themselves.
